Three Ways to Destroy the Works of the Devil
For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil. -- I John 3:8
Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.--John 14:12 (KJV)
Is the devil giving you fits today? Does it seem like he’s lurking around every corner?
If so, why not turn the tables on him. Start making him miserable for a change. You have the power and authority to do it, you know. You have the power residing in you to destroy his works, to heal the sick, to deliver, to set the captives free. You have so much power residing in you that every time you step out of bed, the devil should wail, “Oh no! That trouble maker is up again!”
Where does this power come from? It comes from the Holy Spirit, the Spirit of Christ at work in you. He’s not just there to take you to Heaven someday. He’s there so you can continue His ministry and destroy the works of the devil. He’s there so you can take part in manifesting the Kingdom of God, right now, here on Earth!
Now I might be wrong about this so don’t beat me up too bad if I am, but are you aware of any other ways you can destroy the works of the devil?
The only ways I can think of that WE can do what Jesus said to do, and be “like Jesus” and “destroy the works of the devil” are:
1. Save Souls for Jesus (create disciples not just lip service)
2. Cast Out Devils
3. Heal the Sick
In all fairness technically “good deeds”, encouragement, and prayer can potentially do some damage to the works of the devil etc., but arguably the THREE BIGGIES are those above.
SO LET’S GET TO WORK SHALL WE?
(Don't’ worry I intend to write some articles to ‘get you going’ on these subjects, so watch for upcoming discussions.)
