In Revelation 12:11, the Word says the saints overcome the accuser by the blood of Jesus and the word of their testimony. Your testimony is not all of the bad things you once did before you came to Jesus. Your testimony is your confession. So what is this confession, the word of our testimony we are told in Hebrews 4:14 to "hold fast?" It is the positive things God has done in us and for us. The word of our testimony is the confession of who we are in Christ.
A spiritual law too few of us realize is that: our confessions rule us. Or, to put it another way you will never rise above the level of your confession. The more you talk about it, the more real it becomes. The less you talk about it, the less real. The key to success, victory and an overcoming life is:
Find out what God's Word says about you and make that your
confession.
People often want suggestions on how to study the Bible. There are, of course, many good techniques but one thing I've found most valuable is for the believer to read through the four Gospels and the book of Acts, prayerfully asking for a revelation of Jesus. Then, spend the majority of your time in the letters of Paul. These are written specifically to teach you how to be a success as believer.
As you read, look for expressions such a, "in Christ", "in Him', "in Whom', "through Whom", etc. Mark these in your Bible. There are approximately 140 of these expressions and they tell you what is yours as a believer because you are "in Christ." Study these scriptures—write them down. Meditate on them. Pray over them. Begin to confess them. Begin to say with your mouth "This is who I am, this is what I am and this is what I have, in Christ."
Faith's confession creates realities. As far as God is concerned everything you have or are in Christ is already present reality. But it is your belief of it and your confession of it that makes it a reality to you. It is with our heart that we believe—and with our mouth we make confession unto. In other words, when you believe a thing in your heart and confess it with your mouth—then it becomes real to you. That's how faith's confession creates realties.
As you read some of these scriptures, they won't seem real to you at first. It may seem as though you really have what these scriptures say you have in Him. But, if you will begin to confess with your mouth, because you do believe God's Word in your heart, "This is mine, I have it now. This is who I am. This is what I have. This is what I can do." Then it will become reality to you. It is already real in the spirit realm. But we want them to become real in this physical realm in which we live and real to us in our experience. So remember, as you find these scriptures:
1. Underline or mark each scripture
2. Write it down
3. Meditate on it
4. Make your confession of it
5. Begin to say it with your mouth
